Exterior Lighting

Added some weatherproof, rugged LED lights to the van. Not thrilled at drilling mounting and wiring holes in the van for a specific light that might change in the future if it dies and is no longer available. Attaching them to the rack instead is a better solution.

Two Rigid scene lights per side provide good amounts of light. I need to 3D print a little spacer mounting block so that the downward angle of the light isn't clipped by the edge of the roof as much (trade offs of mounting on the rack vs. the van wall). 0.5" to 0.75" inch should do it no problem. Rigid provides a paper template for the mounting base so should be straightforward to model it up and print 4 of them in black to match.

The angles for the rear were more challenging (much more downward facing). We can envision returning from a bike ride near the end of the day and needing some extra light back there to load/unload into the 'garage' under the bed (I'll drop something and need to find it in the grass of course).

Found the Rigid D-Series Pro flood lights are perfect. Took awhile to run all the additional wiring to each inside light inside wire loom, through the rooftop combiner box, and adding waterproof DC connectors for each near the light itself so they're easy to replace if any individual one fails.

We'll be able to control each side independently and may even try a dimmer switch for the side lights.
