Awning
After attending the Florida Peace, Love, and Vans event back in Feb (it poured rain all day), we knew we wanted an awning. Snagged a Fiamma F45S 350 from Unaka Gear Co with their 10% off labor day sale. Put it up this past week with the Unaka rack adapter brackets. All smooth, no real challenges or mods needed.
This did require me to remove the Rigid scene lights on the passenger side from the rack (the lights and awning decisions where 4 months apart...). Now I have to figure out some lighting w/ the awning in place. An LED strip along the bottom edge of the awning seems ideal, but virtually the entire awning bottom moves out with the awning itself so doesn't seem real feasible. Could mount the LED strip to the van wall right below the rack, but then the lights are just aiming straight out vs. any downward angle. Might end up drilling holes after all for Rigid scene lights on that side. If I have to switch to some other light in the future, I suppose a 3D printed adapter bracket could always solve any hole mismatch alignment.
That's a late spring project at this point; plenty of other higher priorities.
